The most improved rider is determined by the Instructors in Pok Fu Lam based on competition records and their views of overall improvement during the year.  The Rider of The Year is determined by points gained throughout the year. For every competition a member joins she/he gets one (1) point, for a clear jumping round you get an additional 4 points. For dressage or equitation jumping where you get placed (1 to 6) you get 6 points for 1^st place, 5 points for 2^nd place, 4 points for 3^rd place, 3 points for 4^th place, 2 points for 5^th place and 1 point for 6^th place (plus the additional 1 point for entering the competition).
